Class Schedule
Below is a calendar of classes currently available. If you are interested in attending any of the training classes offered YOU MUST contact the Job Training Trust Fund during the hours of 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday at (516) 488-2822 to enroll. Please keep in mind that classes are scheduled based on participation and enrollment will be fulfilled on a first come basis so it is important to contact us immediately if you are interested in any classes.

Classes Offered
Job training is provided to eligible members of Local 282, I.B.T., by making available, assisting and encouraging job training. Below are brief descriptions of the classes available through the Job Training Trust Fund.
This class will provide lifesaving training and instruction on the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Successful students will receive a 2-year certification from the American Heart Association.
Improve your CDL to a Class "A" License. The Fund gives you access to the tractor trailer for training and subsequent road test.
This is a 6-hour National Safety Council approved class. Upon completion you will receive point reduction and, if applicable, insurance discount.
This is a 40-hour hazardous waste operations and emergency response course. This certification allows you to work on hazmat sites such as landfills and other clean up sites.
This is the 8-hour annual refresher class. This must be done yearly to keep your 40-hour certification up to date.
This 10-hour OSHA class is a required certification. The material covered in this class makes members aware of the hazards they face on a daily basis.
This 8-hour class talks about transporting Hazmat safely. It includes Placards, Hazmat classes and divisions and much more.
This class explains the safe and proper way to operate a forklift.
This class gives a driver a complete working knowledge of the Ready Mix Industry. Upon completion, you will be a Certified Concrete Delivery Professional (C.D.P) as recognized by the National Ready Mix Concrete Association.
This Class provides a training session along with a Written test and Practical test.
